Repacking the stuffingbox Propshaft

Hi,
I have a Tige 21v 2001 and I need to repack the stuffingbox at the propshaft (please excuse me if I use strange words.. I´m a Swede..:-)
Anyone who knows what dimensions I need for the new packings. Found both 6mm and 8 mm at the shop..

I normally repack with 1/4" flax packing. That's 6.3mm so I would guess the 6 is your guy. Cut 3 separate rings and stagger the gaps like you would with piston rings. Check your adjustment on the water and make sure you get an occasional drip into the boat.

Welcome to the site! I decided to replace mine with a Packless Sealing System. Definitely more expensive, but thought I would make sure you knew about the option.

I have the same boat. Is this the PSS system? If so, is there any maintenance required?

"PYI recommends that the bellows be replaced once every 6 years. During bellows replacement it is also recommended that the o-rings & set screws in the stainless steel rotor are replaced, as well as the hose clamps. Under most circumstances the carbon stator and the stainless steel rotor will not need replaced".

So if the above pictured shaft seal has a small fitting on the other side with hose its the same as the one you posted. Its more likely the older PSS style and carbon seal is leaking. You can usually slow the leak by taking out the allen set screws. I believe that there are allens under the allens you see in pic. Loosen those and compress the accordion and tighten back down and it should go a little longer before it needs replaced.
