              My understanding is that you want to look for “dual action” to prevent damaging your gelcoat or auto paint.

                I've used the 7" buffer above, but you have to know what your doing as you can damage it faster than the dual action on will. Its also what I learned to use so I don't like dual action ones myself.

                    Different pads have a different amount of cutting action as well. I personally prefer wool over foam. Granted mine is no where near the bad shape the one in the video is.

                        I have both of those, other than being noisy, they work fine, I'm only polishing my toys so heavy repeated use isn't a requirement for me. Just make sure you have the right pads/product/technique as has been described and they get the job done.
