    Draining tranny fluid

I have a ZF 41 IV transmission. ZF emailed me the owners manual and it discusses checking fluid level, adding fluid and cleaning the filter but it doesn’t discuss how to drain the fluid and the diagram does not show a drain plug. So how do you drain the fluid? Thanks for any help.

I just use a vacuum pump and suck it out through the dipstick hole.

Thanks, I assumed there would be a drain plug.

Even if there is a drain plug, it may be almost inaccessible. Kinda like the drain plug on the transmission intercooler on my EX343... literally impossible to reach without removing it from the engine. Which is what I do, and at that point it's just as easy to remove one of the hoses and do a more thorough job.

Inboards should ship with a vacuum fluid extractor and a multimeter.
