I've been running Mobil 1 full synthetic 5w30 in my Raptor 400. It's API rated SN which is what the Indmar manual calls for. Semi Synthetic is also 5w30 with an API rating of SN as well. Full synthetic Mobil 1 is actually less expensive in my area, so that's why I use it.
Technically you can get a conventional that is SN rated as well. That being said for the $ you paid science has proven why run anything besides a full synth. Breakdown, acidification, and overall duty cycle of application it seems like a no brainer. Then again there are guys out there dumping 87 octane e10 into these engines as well to save literally dimes on the dollar. Why mess around with your investment, especially if you aren't having to pay labor (ie doing the work yourself). Pass the savings along to yourself and run quality fuel and oil. Service trans and v drive, change impellers. Only really crazy service interval in your manual is greasing starter bendix yearly. Especially for early model raptor with bottom mount starters.
