    Fuel Filter 340Hp MP

Okay I feel dumb, I am pretty sure its on the starboard side under the no-step shield. How do I get to it? Doesn't look like it comes off? Is there only 1 filter on these boats or two heard there where 2. This is my first attempt at the fuel filter change. I survived the blind impeller change this weekend, call it a 3 beer job. But this fuel filter has me stumped. Any help or pictures would be great.

I just did this on Sunday. Here are a few threads I found:

    http://www.tigeowners.com/forum/show...-Filter-thread

Mine is on the port side of the boat. Along with the engine bulkhead, I remove the aft battery compartment bulkhead to make access easier. I disconnected the cooling lines on the bottom, although it sounds like you can remove bottom plate (via the one bolt) altogether and let them dangle. As the threads warn, the canister portion is on there "gorilla tight". My rubber strap wrench made it another year without snapping. A 2 quart bucket worked well to catch fuel when removing the canister. The old filter element is also a pain to remove. Basically destructive removal using a long screwdriver through it to pry up and out. New o-ring and filter and you're good to go. Should be a 2 beer job.

I hope you have better luck than me. I attempted to replace my fuel filter Sunday, but my rubber strap wrench broke. Hopefully with a better strap wrench the second attempt will be successful.

Thanks guys, correction mine is on the port side I will try and tackle this one today. Once I verify the part number I have should be good to go.

I had to remove the whole apparatus and use some serious elbow grease on the benchtop with vise help to get it loose. But I got it! Get er done!

Thanks guys, come to find out I don't have the filter. Ordered one should be here this weekend. To bad it's supposed to be pouring rain Thurs-Sun.

Lee-I bought one listed in the other thread, wish u would have seen yours first. $10 cheaper thanks I will keep that for future reference.

Put some anti seize on the threads to help with the next removal.

Use a extra large pipe wrench. I had jumbo sized channel locks with a 3 foot breaker bar and it wouldn't budge. A pipe wrench popped it loose with less effort. Something about the way a pipe wrench applies torque makes it work.

This made me smile. I have two four-foot pipe wrenches for really tough jobs. Not kidding, they really do make them that large. When I whip out one (or both!) of those bad boys, the facial expressions are priceless.

x2 - pipe wrench worked on mine as well.

I happen to have a "persuader" such as this. I haven't even started yet and the 10 minute job I thought is turning into surgery. Lol i just got word my filter will be here Tuesday, so I am in a holding pattern till then.

I got caught stealing images apparently. The picture changed from a cartoon of a guy holding two wrenches to an eagle. Go figure.

ha, ha. I hate it when that happens...

I was actually wondering, just thought that was a mean look
