    Fuel stains

Was checking out my boat in the driveway yesterday and it appears some fuel burped out of the vent and down the side of my 05' 22V. It has ruined the 22V decal on the back and left stains on the boat. I filled the tank up last fall as was recommended somewhere and it hit 80 degrees a couple of weeks ago...did that cause the burp? Has anyone else had this happen? Will standard hull cleaner get the stains out?

    Thanks

This happened to me last year when the temps hit 120 degrees. I went to my dealer and spoke to Andrew who sent new decals for my dealer to install. I could not remove the gas stains with light rubbing compound. The fiberglass guy in Havasu is going to wet sand and repolish. Actually they have faded a little and not as yellow as when it first happened
    Let it be!!!

When I picked up my 04, I was told NOT to fill the tank all the way when winterizing!
They told me that since my boat had a MPFI engine that the gas tank had a vent in it. And that if I filled all the way in the winter that it would spill out in the spring.
They also told me that the cab engines have a sealed tank and on them, it is ok to fill them all the way. (Old School)

Not to rob the thread, but this gores back to customer service.
The folks at Tige Water sports in Corona make sure you know everything before you take the boat home. With me they did a water delivery where they showed me how everything worked, and how to drive it. (It is our first boat)

Thanks Chris, you where right again.

i have a carb, and it has an overflow. It is actually so the fumes have somewhere to go... Also, incase you overfill at the gas station. .. This is how i think water got in my gas.

A boat with a carburetor engine gas tank will have a vent in it.

So tigeguy should the boats with mpfi engines not have to fiil the tank and add stabilizer to the gas for winter?

You should add fuel stabilizer to any fuel that will sit for more than sixty days, even for the old mower and weed eater. Filling the tank slows down the collection of moisture in the tank as the tank could not sweat on the inside if full.

At what temp do the tanks start to condensate?

If you fill the tank, then wont it over flow when the daytime temps start to clime? (Out here in Ca we are hitting 46 at night but in the mid 80’s during the day)
