    How often to wax?

I recently bought a 22ve and was wondering how often I should wax it. We wipe it down and spray exterior with vinegar and water (per the dealer recommendations) and use soap and water for the interior. Just want to keep this baby in top condition! How often should I wax, what brands are best, hand wax or machine buff- any suggestions would be awesome! Thanks in advance

We abandoned the vinegar and opted for the Simple Green. Easy to prepare in multiple spray bottles and doesn't have the distint oder. I find with the simple green it is easier for me to recruit spray helpers. My dealer recommended the spray wax which has been successful for us to keep wax on the hull and trailer. Depending on the season dictates how and when we give it a proper detailing with hand wax.

Thanks teachercop... I'll try the Simple Green. Do you recommend any particular brand? Would any one recommend using a buffer? I'm fairly anal about cleanliness, especially with my new baby.

I have heard wax it at the beginning of the season and again at the end. I use Meguiars products.

I have never seen a boat with too much wax on it. By the time we sell a new boat, it will have at least two coats of wax on for the new owner.

One thing to keep in mind with the Simple Green, it should not be used on vinyl. The literature that came with your new Tige, specifically lists Simple Green as a no-no. That's why I would rather not have it anywhere near my boat for cleaning.

I just discovered a new wax called Klasse. It's imported from Germany and easiest to find if ordered over the internet. Applying it is as easy wiping it on with a wet rag and wiping it off a minute later. It can also be used on your car. It removes any watermarks that may find their way on the boat so it ends up leaving a great shine.

                Wax

I was told to stay away from wax, because of its low tolerence to heat. I went to a polish. with that new nano technology that way it keeps the oils in the paint, which it turn protects and shines. I use a product called driven, heres there web site, driventoperfection.com.

Klasse is probably similar to the Driven polish. Here is a link for some info on it.

Ducky!!!! Spray on after you pull the boat from the water, no waterspots at all. And 303 for the inside.

I do it only once a year, to much max screws the paint up. thats how we do it at calibre boats.

I just got into the waxing routine last year.

I wax 3 times a year with maquires.

Then I use 303 inside and out about every week or so.
