    Water Spot Remover testing

I am pleased to have made a huge leap in the development of the water spot remover. By combining a couple of different fruit acids and playing with some cool polymers I have come up with a good forumla to surpass many competitors.

    Here are some pictures.

If anyone is still boating and would like a sample to test and report on feel free to ask.

Looks great! I am guessing this is the same stuff that I tested, Gnarly Water Spot Remover.

I just mix up a bottle of vinegar and water real quick. Fast and effective. Although my boat is the farthest from showroom quality so I don't really put much effort into the shine. If its clean, its good enough for me.

I can appreciate your approach and it does work.
The only thing ot consider is that over time vinegar will strip the wax off your boat where as a product like my water spot remover or other brands may offer some polmer protection.

The other thing is vinegar smells a bit over bearing specially after wiping down the whole boat.

It is Gnarly on steroids. I amped up the cleaning power and increased the polymer sealant.

I will arrange for you to get a sample.

I'm running near the bottom of my gallon of Babes and looking at trying something else next year. My boat sits on a hoist all year and gets some sun fade in the black sections that the cover does not protect near the end of the year. Will this spray help keep that sun fading down? I still wax and polish in the beginning of the season, but would rather go skiing during the season than wax and polish and worry too much about the sun fade. Only during the hottest days of the summer do we get water spots, but usually there is a light ring right at the water line (especially if left in the water over night). Babes seems to work just fine, but if something can make the wipe down job easier & protect from sun fade I'm interested.

What do you recommend me using or trying?

                  Hey Joeprunc,

                  Great question...

Most water spot removers with polymers will not leave a thick enough coating to provide a barrier that will replace waxing.

Products like Babe's Spot Solve will strip wax over time with continued use and that is why they suggest to follow up with Boat Bright to restore some prtoection.

The polymers I use will feed or fortify the polymers I use in Big Kahuna Polymer Sealant and help prolong its life.

I am not sure what polish and wax you are using and how you are applying it but if you are removing oxidation with a compound or cleaner wax I would suggest preserving the finish witha good polymer sealant. If you are using a true polish over an oxidized surface then you are not removing the oxidation but masking it and it will show up again once the polish and wax wear off... probably about 2 months after you have done your boat.

If you want to get an idea of how I would remove oxidation and renew a gel coat surface my video may give you some ideas.

                  Hope this helps,

Samples all left yesterday. Hopefully y'all get them before the boats get put up for the season.
I think you will like the results.

Gnarly Water Spot Remover + has a nice Passionfruit scent, cleans as good if not better than my friends products and leaves a slick polymer coating that you can feel on waxed and non waxed surfaces.

I look forward to your results.

I finally had a chance to test out the original mixture of the Gnarly Water Spot Remover and WOW, if the new mixture is even better, I'll definitely be ordering some!

The polished pieces that cover the cup holders on the sides of my boat and in the bow are constantly getting spots, even after cleaning (although, granted, they were not cleaned very well since they had these spots on them). Most of these spots were overspray from either the vinyl cleaner or spray detailer (both Hula) that just didn't get wiped off.

                        Here is a shot before:

                        During:

                        After:

                        Starboard Side After:

It basically returned them back to new.

It also did really well on the cup holders in the boat. They really don't look all that bad in the pics to begin with but the improvement was pretty dramatic.
