    Torn Heater Extension Hose

Any tips on repairing a torn heater hose? (air heater that pulls out of the walkway in the bow)

I have a 2003 22v that has the extension hose that has torn. It's about a 2" slit in between one of the spirals. It's close to the end of the hose, so it looks like the end of the hose should be able to be removed, cut off a few inches and put it back on. I couldn't figure out how to do this though. Currently I have black electrical tape on it, but I'm guessing that will only be a short term fix.

I'd prefer to repair rather than replace a whole assembly as it seems to be something that will just happen fairly easily from time to time.

Any creative solutions out there? I can't imagine I'm the only one that's run ito this problem.

    Thanks!

if you like the ghetto look then duct tape would be sweet..... for something more professional i bet you would have to buy the whole hose.

You should be able to slide the hose off and using a pair of cutters snip the wire right behind the torn hose and then reinstall on the tube. This should fix your issues. Also if ever you need more flex hose your dealership should have some in stock opr could order from us. Not expensive at all.

Once you reattache the hose you could use a zip tie to help hold the hose on the tube.

Andrew, when you say "slide off", can you go into more detail? When you say "tube" are you talking about the vent assy on the end that the heated air comes out of? It looks like somehow it should be able to be disassembled, but I can't figure out how. It looks like the flex tubing is clamped into that vent assy and it would tear if I attempted to "slide it off". Any additional info would be much appreciated.

          Thanks!
