To fog or not to fog

I have an 06 Tige 22V with the 5.7L Marine Power engine.

Ok, I've read a ton of posts on here about winterizing, I am just heading out to the driveway to get mine done today.

My one question is about fogging. My manual says that the fogging procedure only applies to carbureted engines. Since my engine has EFI I am not planning to fog the engine. I figure if you follow the owners manual it's hard to go wrong.

Does anyone have any insights on this?

By the way I live up north where the temp is below 0 for several months.

    Thanks

Fogging has nothing to do with temperature, its just an anti-corrosion measure for the internals of the engine. You will see many differences of opinion on this one, with lots of facts and notices from service bulletins explaining why you should or should not fog. I have a PCM 343 with EFI and I removed each sparkplug and shot a little oil into each cylinder and turned the engine over by had a few times to coat the cylinder walls and my engine ran fine all season. I plan to do the same this year.
