    Sikkens too slick - solution???

I applied the Sikkens Cetol Marine Natural Teak finish to my deck and just took it out for the first time since. It is too slick - I have to do something to fix it. I love the wet look, but I always have kids on the boat so this won't work.

I am thinking that I could apply some kind of clear non-skid finish - anyone ever do this on teak? Any other thoughts? Just to be pre-emptive, I have no desire to Rhino Line. Think I can get the clear type stuff at a paint store?

Most products that make your teak deck look nice are going to be slick.

Teak oil is a bit less slippery than Sikkens, but needs more care. Some people have Rhino lined their swim decks which I personally would never do.

You could try to put Sea Deck over certain sections, but who knows how well that will stick to wood. And when you have to recoat the swim deck it would be a PITA to miss the sea deck pads.

Joe is correct, wet look make it slick. You could try something like this

I havent used it yet, was going to on another project. Just try it on a scrap piece of wood first to see if you like the look before applying it to the teak.
