    Trailer Grease

    Hey Guys:
I'm somewhat mechanical but sometimes I need a little guidance.
How often do I need to grease the bearings on the trailer? I've had mine three years now and haven't done it yet.
Do I need to do it for this season? If so, how do I do it?

    Thanks in advance.

I repack mine every year. I don't want to risk having problems on the road.

I would suggest that you find someone to show you how to do everything. It is difficuld to do, but would take a while to describe in words.

By all means get some grease in there now. Use marine (blue) grease. Those bearing will fail on you without grease.

If you remove the black rubber cap and can press in on the spring, then you have grease in the bearings. If you cannot press the spring in, apply just enough grease to make the spring expand outward. Any more thn that could cause the rear seal to blow when the grease expands due to heat.

I have a 2002 and I'm religious about checking the Buddy bearings every trip and adding when it needs it. With this much regular maintenance, how often does it need to be re-packed?
