Cleaning engine compartment

What do most of you use to clean the engine compartment area of your boats? I have a 2006 24V that I just bought this year and would like to give that area a little more TLC.

I use a soft bristle brush and dawn dish detergent, It gets the grease and oil out, if you have any. I use a bucket to catch the waste water from the drain plug and let the oil float to the surface, then pour that out carefully and take it to the oil recycling drop off. This is what I did to my last boat when it got a little messy, my current boat is clean and dry as it can be.
