winterizing my boat

I recently acquired a 1999 2200i and need some help. I live in Utah and plan to store the boat in my garage for the winter. I do not have an owners manual and am wondering if winterizing it myself is easy enough for me to do or if I should pay to have it done.

Can anyone help me with the process?

Just stabilize the fuel, fog the cylinders, change the oil and filter then drain the water of the block, heater and shower.

If these guys have fuel injection engines, what can be done to help clean up the injectors?

You could try using some injector cleaner in the gas tank.

Are all the different brands about the same?

I like Chevron's Techron. It is in their gas or you can buy it as a stand alone cleaner also.

"fog the cylinders" What's that mean????

To spray fogging oil into the cylinders either thru the spark plug holes or the air intake.

Do not forget to change your fuel filter/water seperator either. You have to fill up the new filter with gas before you screw it on. Also before you fog the cylinders, run the boat with fuel that has already been stabilized. To fog the engine, fill the intake with fogging oil. Disconnect the coil lead on your distributor so the boat will not start. Then just crank the engine over for a few seconds. The engine will suck the fogging oil into the cylinders.

What about putting anti-freeze into the block???

Fogging refers to an oil product call FOGGING OIL
This comes in a can like WD40 (but it is not the same)
You can use it inside the engine (intake, cylinders, & carbonator or throttle body)
You can also use it on the outside of the engine to help prevent rust.
(Please note that the first time you start the engine after winter is over it will SMOKE )

Thanks guys! I'll be winterizing my boat this weekend- of course half of me says to just put on a heavier jacket and keep taking it out every couple of weeks...lol
