    2008 Tige Z1

This boat has only 121 hrs. Installed batteries and forgot to mark where all connections go, when removing last fall. TAPS are not working. Do the TAPS have their own battery connection? Are there inline fuses? Can someone provide a TAPS schematic? Any idea how to troubleshoot? There is a TAPS 20 amp fuse under dash. How does one check this fuse to see if blown.

    Thanks in advance.

Is it a fuse or a circuit breaker? Does it have the little push button if so it is a circuit breaker. If it is like mine you are referring to a circuit breaker. You can undo the box that has all the circuit breakers. There is a metal buss that runs power to all the breakers. You can hold a test light on the buss and on the out leg of the breaker to see if there is power going out.

When you say that TAPS is not working is it the plate is not moving or the gauge on the dash that shows the position is not moving (I don't know if your 2008 has the touch screen or not)?

Thanks for the reply. I have nothing working on the TAPS. No plate or gauge movement. No clicking sound. Thought maybe I didnt hook battery connections properly, but cant find any that I have missed. Which battery connection powers the TAPS? I do not have touch screen. Can you send a digital photo of your battery connections. Are the circuit breakers resettable ?

Fuses can be checked with a visual inspection, using a DVOM (volt ohm meter to check continuity or for voltage on both sides of the fuse) or a 12V test light.

Im not 100% sure, but I was thinking that that boat had a breaker in the main helm BUSS for the TAPS. If so, it should be labeled. Look and see if its tripped. If so, push the white button in to reset it.

you may also want to check the resevoir to make sure there is fluid in there. If I remember coorrectly the resevoir is located back in the battery area on the driver's side of the boat. With the battery cover open, have someone else hit the button and you can be back in there and listen to see of the motor is turning the pump. That may happen and it may be working but out of fluid. Just from e3xpereince I had a small leak recently in my 09 Z1, but it was very minor.
