Hey all searched feverishly on the topic but can find out if anyone has actually pulled the transmission filter on their ZF45 transmission/v-drive unit.
I have read the manual and it tells me to pull two M8-25 bolts on a square plate below the transmission, remove a seal within and then the filter will be above that. I'll be honest the whole square plate with bolts is a little weird and i don't want to unbolt anything until I can get a warm and fuzzy. Also it says replace seal and filter after inspection if necessary. I assume by experience that seals are almost always in need of replacement after removal I guess would get the filter and seal kit from Tige dealer? Is there a better place? Is there really a point for me to do this with a boat that has 175 hours?
Also I know most folks suck the old fluid out of the transmission and v-drive and the filter/plate is the drain on the transmission but is there a drain on the v-drive unit? FYI I plan on extracting just wondering.
Also the zinc anodes on the v-drive integrated cooler where can I get those? Mine are pretty eaten (brackish water)
I'm going to take a bunch of photos and post my process when I'm done so others can learn as I have on this wonder forum.
