    6L Fluid Change ?

Anyone know what filter a 2005 Marine Power 6L uses? I've searched and called and its still clear as mud. No one from Marine Power has called me back in two days. It is a single filter. About 5 inches tall and 4 inches across.

Also, I have a blue tranny, which fluid goes in there?

Same as any other SB Chevy I believe. AC-Delco PF25 for one.

Actually, the blue component is the Walter V-drive and used 30W non-detergent motor oil. The trans is gray and is a Borg-Warner Velvet and use Dexron.

Oil filter is Baldwin B6 or B360(antidrainback), AC delco PF25 or PF30(antidrainback) or any of your favorite GM oil filters. You were not given the Fram number for a reason :-)

Actually, that filter is not a PF25!!! It is a PF20/PF2/L30199. The PF25 would not thread on. Had to take the whole bracket in so I could stop making guesses . I regret getting this 6L almost every day.

Why do you regret getting the 6.0l, im up to 1050hrs, just oil changes and impellars?

In a nutshell, because I'm not as mechanical as you.

It took three years of headaches and trips to the incompetent dealer who only left me with empty gas tanks, greasy vinyl and repair parts that didn't fix anything. I guess the motor itself has been fine but relays, impellers, anti-siphon valves, fuel pumps, your thermostat trick, leaking oil lines, cracked coolant hose, and the best one, starboard muffler failing twice while on the water at speed.

evilOne, I don't want to get you too off subject here, but I have a 2005 6L and would like to hear more about the anti-siphon valves comment you made. Does this have to do with gas or maybe your referencing your ballast?

My short story is that gas started coming out of the gas tank cap while parked and off for over a day. I know the gas expansion story when going from cold to hot, but I'm having a hard time believing it expanded that much.
