Any idea on approximately how much fluid a velvet drive trans holds?

I believe it's two quarts. Some perople use Automotive transmission fluid, some use Tractor oil. It depends on what is in there now. Mine had tractor oil, so that's what I use.Originally posted by illiniboarder88 View Post

Below is link to the owners manual. Page 1 has the capacities but you have to add a little more to account for the cooling system so you you need to buy three qts and will have some left over for top ups.
Page 5 has the procedure for filling. You can add 2qts then run it a bit, turn off the engine, and race back to check the dip stick before the cooer lines drain back down. This is important as often people do not have enough fluid because the cooling system is not accounted for and when the boat is sitting the cooling drains back down so it looks full.
