Help! I'm in the middle of a move and all of my manuals are in boxes. I have a 2000 21V and I've had some slippage in my v-drive, it got a little low on oil. I would like to change the fluid in the v-drive and the transmission to prevent any problems, but I'm not sure how to drain the fluid out. Can it be siphoned from the dipstick tube? I know that 30W oil goes in the v-drive, but I'm not sure about the trans, it is a velvet drive. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!

I use a drill pump for both. The v-drive is kind of tricky though...you can't pump it out through the "dip stick". What I did was remove the elbow in the front of the v-drive (torwards the front of the boat). Then you can push the hose from the drill pump into the bottom of the pan. Also, lower the front of you boat/trailer to get the most fluid torwards the front. I replaced both my trans and v-drive fluids with syntheic Royal Purple and I noticed a differance in "smoothness" especially when going into drive/reverse. Let me know if you need any more help or better directions.
