    Winterize 6L closed loop system

I am looking for some help on how to winterize a 6L closed loop system. In past years I have had the dealer do it, but it is a 3 hour drive and I am hoping to do it myself. I have changed the oil and filter not sure how to drain the heater and the lines to the heat exchanger.

Piece of cake. This is what pull the suction line off the raw water intake at the by the V drive grab a gallon of RV antifreeze pour it in and run the boat until i see it come out the exhaust keep pouring the antifreeze into the system while the boat is running. I gallon has always been enough for me. Check your antifreeze in your motor and make sure it is up to the temps in your area. Change the oil, put sta-bil in the gas tank, dry the boat out and you are good to go.

Sounds easy enough. Will this take care of the heater as well? Sould I be concerned about the water not being drained before the antifreeze is put in? And how do I go about changing the antifreeze in the motor?
Sorry for all the questions, but I'm learning fast. You guys are a great resource and I hope to contribute soon.

Your heater should be ran off the closed loop part. You can pull the plugs in the risers but not really necessary. Just test antifreeze if it needs to be changed you need to drain somehow chances you dont need to do this.
