how much for a standard 20 hr service

I jsut took my 08' 22ve in for the 20hr service requirement for warranty. Only major thing I see is oil and transmission change. they hit me for 4 hours of shop time at 80/hr, so over 380 bucks!! Is this standard, how can you trust what they charge you, I feel like I got screwed cause I got a nice boat.
    Any input would be helpful.

I do all my own service. Dealership rates are ridiculous.

$80 an hr is low IMO, most are $90 - $120 an hr.

Did you ask up front what will be done as part of thier 20 hr service? Did they itemize what was done i.e. parts and labor? If they did change the trans and V-drive fluids, and then perform the actuall 20 hr inpection per the owners' manuals, then that sounds about right.

I use two shops for my service...the one I bought my boat from and one near where I keep my boat in the summer. Both charge right around $100/hr....I'd be happy with $80/hr .

I'm not a mechanic so I have them do the scheduled services. I'd have to go through my papers, but I think the number of hours you mentioned is right in the ball park. Owning a boat isn't cheap...BOAT = Break Out Another Thousand.

I asked to throw the 20 hour service with the purchase of the boat. How about some slack since you just bought a boat from them
          GO BIG!!

Mine came with a free one. I think dealerships are trying to make money anyway that they can right now though.

Bought my boat from a dealer 7 hrs away, I'm in Idaho bro, way in the sticks where you got glass water all day!! Took it local to guys mainly whom work on Jetboats. They did a good job but man I totally wasn't expecting that cost for maybe a 1-2 hr job, the 20 hr really doesn't have nothing substantial for service, bolt tighning?
I plan to do my winterization and oil changes personally, but have to do these to keep warranty valid. Can the instructions on site for the service be followed, they legit?

You can do your own service and keep your warranty valid. I have done mine since day one.

You might not void warranty if you do your own work but you better keep accurate records if you do because it will help if a warranty issue ocurs, remember the dealer is first line to the manufacturer.
