break in period

I am getting a new RZ2 & I am anxious to know how long will I have to wait to load the ballast system. and how is the break in procedure for the first time. If anyone could enlighten me in this area.

No matter how long they said the break in period is, it would be too long for me. I'd want to be surfing ASAP.

Tige breaks em in in their test lake. I wouldn't be worried about loading her up right away.

Per instructions from my dealer, Dom at Forte's, towing skiers is the best way to break it in. You are varying the rpm's and not holding a steady speed for too long. He did add, not to go WOT till after the 20hr service. After that, drive it like you stole it.

I think they only put one or 2 hrs on it at the factory. Dom and Tony gave it a spin or two before I picked it up and it was at 5 hrs when I picked it up.

my break-in went pretty quick, i have over 10 hrs now any picked my boat up 2 weeks ago. it had 1.1hrs on it. there is a specific break-in procedure for the first 5 hours in the PCM manual, my dealer stepped me through it.

My dealer, who builds and pimps out motors for the big go-fast boats for people all over the world (I consider him a marine engine guru), told me exactly what Guma said...vary the speed as much as possible (which is accomplished by towing skiers, boards, etc)...and not to worry about full out break in procedure...

Thank you for the heads up, I plan to put the first 20 hours in the first full weekend. I am done with manual fill ballast in the middle of the boat! I already let my boss know I'll be off work the day it comes in.
