    2021 21ZX Engine Faults

    Hello,

I have a 2021 21 ZX that I purchased from a dealer that isn't a Tige Dealer across the country from me. They took the boat in on trade.

I have an appointment at the local dealer (that would take me), but that is not until July. The boat still has 2 years of warranty left and they're going to transfer it for me.

I took the boat out on Sunday for the maiden voyage and experienced a couple of engine codes.

The first one was EMWT1. I shut the boat down, turned the battery switch to the off position, and opened the engine compartment. Nothing seemed hot or out of the ordinary. After turning everything back on, the code seemed to clear and everything was fine. I have no cell service on our lake so I couldn't read up on what it was. There's not a whole lot of info out there on this issue (that i can find) either.

On the way back, I had this code appear again and then shortly followed by a EMWT2 code.

I had been running the boat right around 4800 RPM on the way home and the codes seemed to appear after about 10 minutes of running at that RPM.

I then shut down again, open the engine compartment, and again, nothing seemed out of the ordinary or hot.

I needed to get back, so after around 20 minutes, started the boat again and all codes were gone.

I have read that it could be the thru haul is not open, strainer needs cleaned, or impeller is bad.

The boat reached a max temp of 223 degrees at one point. Is that something I need to really worry about?

Anyone have any insight on where to find these things on the boat and what to do? I would like to be able to take the boat out for memorial day weekend.

    Thanks!

I would check your strainer to make sure it is clean and tight that it is not sucking air. I would switch out the raw water impeller as well.

I can't believe your dealer is out until July. I would be finding a new dealer.

Do not run your boat over 200 degrees. After restarting did it reach that temperature again? Could be numerous things

Well, after talking with Tige today, I found that the sea **** was half open. I understand why I was getting the EMWT faults, but would that cause the engine coolant to heat up like that?

Also checked the fuse for the heater circulating pump and that was not blown.

That'll do it! For peace of mind, I would pull the cover off the impeller and make sure it's still good after running with limited water.

I did pull the impeller cover and it looks great. I ordered a new one anyways and will change it after the holiday weekend.

Do you think the engine temp being high is related to the seacock not being open all the way?
