    Winterizing on 2018 RZX 3

Wondering if anything should be done to winterize the heater? I pumped antifreeze through the block and bags, looks like the heater lines come from cooling path out of the top of the block. When I pulled one of the heater lines antifreeze from the block came out but I hate to assume and wreck a heater core! Thanks in advance.

Heater core is closed cooled, nothing needs to be done to winterize.

Assuming you drained the water before adding the anti freeze to the engine? If you don’t the anti freeze will be diluted and not reach everywhere.

Nothing needs to be done to the heater

Yes. Drained all the water in the block first then flushed with antifreeze. Thank you for clearing up the heater question.

Should not be any water in the engine block, as the Raptors are closed cooling and filled with automotive antifreeze/coolant. Only lake water in exhaust, heat exchanger, v-drive/trans.

True. I did not explain that well. Thank you for the correction. What I was referring to was the outside water portion when I mentioned I drained the the water. Thank you.

Did you remove the 5 plugs to drain?

Keep an eye on you're degas/coolant fill bottle. If you pulled the heater line you may be low on coolant now. If you let a lot out sometime you get an air bubble at the top of the block/thermostat housing and will overheat next time you have the boat out.

Yes sir I did. The heater was the only part I questioned myself on.

This is great information. Does anyone have the 5 plug locations that need to be drained or where I could find that information?

I’ll take a stab at it.

                      1. bottom of heat exchanger. Blue plug.
                      2. Raw water pump cover.
                      3. port exhaust manifold plug. Brass plug
                      4. starboard exhaust manifold plug. Brass plug
                      5. v-drive drain plug. Blue plug.

seems I recall more blue plugs though???

Another blue plug on a water tube by the heat exchanger.

                          Plug 1 - front of V-drive
Plug 2 - front left corner of transmission node
Plug 3 - Lower corner of heat exchanger
Plug 4 - Lower corner of black pipe behind exchanger
Plug 5 - 1-1/16 brass plug on exhaust manifold
Plug 6 - 1-1/16 brass plug on exhaust manifold
Raw water pump cover attached to flywheel

These are all the locations I found yesterday with the Indmar owner's manual. If I missed something can someone please let me know. Thanks for all your help guys.

Nice work. I like the picture. Only thing I'd change is the "flywheel". Somewhere right now, some guy is throwing wrenches because he can't find a cover he needs to remove that's attached to the flywheel.
I think you meant crank pulley.

You get out for an early season ride already? Hopefully not too many more nights dropping down below freezing, this warm weather is such a tease!
From what I can see looks like you got all the plugs.
