You can buy a new tube on ebay and cut it to you desired hieght or buy an adjustable one like the first link

Tige also sells one where you adjust height like most office chairs.

Mine doesnt have a post. it sits on rails so the seat can slide front to back. We usually end up either sitting on a spare lifejacket or tipping the seat cushion up and sitting on the end of it. I sure wish there was a better way
