Winter Upgrades

Staing on my winter time upgrades. Spring is coming so its time to get her done. I will be installing a transom remote, a heater system, a shower and the ballast system. The pic below is of most all the parts that are going in. Kind of like a big puzzle.

Next up was the transom stereo remote. I did it. Drillied my first hole in the boat and it was a big one. 3". It became evident that chamfering the hole edges is very important to prevent later spider cracks. When I started with the file little pieces of gel coat chipped off. After the chamfer was complete it was smooth and no more chipping was happening.

Below are the pics of the hole and one with the remote installed. Next up the holes for the ballast thru hulls.

Wow! Lots of stuff there! Looks like you have 10 pumps, what configuration are you using?

When I am done with the install of all this stuff I won't need water for ballast. 2 rear sacks 2 mid sacks 1 integrated front sack. Fill and drain pumps on each and 2 drain on the front. I am slamming the boat with weight..

I did it. There are now 2 more holes in my boat. Would have put the thru hulls in but had no helper this evening.

Well I have been continuing work this week. I only get a little light when I get home from work so progress in the boat has been a little slow. I have been able to work on the ballast wiring harness and switches inside after dark.

Was able to get the intake thru hulls in and the valves attached and ready to conect the manifolds.

Working on the wire harness. Each splice was soldered, shrink tubing used and then taped. I used the pictured conectors at the pump conections to aid in conecting them. This way if the wire needs to be moved or the pump needs replacing or needs to be pulled from the boat it will just un-plug.

I used colored tape to identify which ends to conect to each pump and switch. When you are working with so many wires and leads color coordination is good. The harness will be cased in a blue plastic casing.
