When to replae entire water pump?

When do I replace the whole water pump. Dom already replaced an impeller at 225 hours, we now have almost 400 hours. Thoughts?

That one is a cast iron unit, so I would not worry about replacing for a long time. If you ever smoke an impeller real bad, then give a good looksie for scoring and blueing, but other then than, roll on.

Mine started showing wear rings and the bearings were shot at 600 hours. Luckily we caught it before it totally seized.
