I am upgrading the tower on our 2300V to a 2005 design and plan to add a pair of tower speakers. Currently, all the boat has is the stock speakers in the hull throughout the boat powered by a Clarion M335 head unit. Can the volume on the tower speakers be controlled seperately from the hull speakers? I am also adding adding an amp and am concerned that one 4 channel amp may not be enough to power all the speakers and a sub? I am looking at Clarion's APX480M amp for power to the speakers. Any help would be great. Martin

Controlling volume on new tower speakers

I'm looking for a better way to do it to. I have 4 speakers on the tower, and have them connected to rear fader output from the stereo (running through an amp). To hear the stereo while riding we have to set the balance almost all the way to the rear - otherwise everyone in the boat gets blasted out.
Hey Martin, I see you're a fellow Tucsonan! Roosevelt's up to 80+%!! We're going up on the weekend of the 19th. Are you going out any time soon?

Scott, we visited Roosevelt last weekend on our way home from Sunrise. The water level was hard to believe. The ramp we used last year in now closed and the parking lot is covered with water. At full capacity, this lot will be under water by 14'. What a difference. Unfortunately, due to the debri and muddy conditions of the lake, we will not be getting into the water probably until mid May. It is still dune season, which is where we will be on the 19th and 26th. Apache should be a little clearer, but not sure on the logs and debri. We are in the RV park from mid May through October. Come by and see us.
I had thought about the fader control also, but was not sure if that was the only way to control the tower volume. What deck and amp are you using?

I've heard there's a lot of junk in the water too. It's hard to believe the parking lot is under water (Badger ramp - right?). We might go on to Apache on the 19th.
In my set up, I have a Clarion deck and two Clarion amps-one for the cockpit speakers and the other for the tower. There's also a Rock-Fos amp for the sub.Nostalgia isn't what it used to be

Which deck do you have? I have changed my mind on my new deck purchase. I have decided on the Clarion CMD4. It has 3 sets of preamp outputs and is set up for the ipod and sat radio. With a 4 channel amp for the speakers and a 2 channel for the sub, I should be set.
Your right on the crap in the water. Roosevelt is now 13' from capacity and rising daily. Should be a whole new lake this summer. Hope your trip on the 19th is log free and sunny.

Okay, I'm convinced. Maybe we will go on to Apache and let Canyon settle another month or so.
We hit Roosevelt a couple times a month, depending on what's going on, and usually stay at the resort. We do a lot of day trips to Canyon and Saguaro. I'll keep an eye out for you guys this year. We're in the yellow 23V with the double bimini. ScottNostalgia isn't what it used to be
