    Trolling

I have a Mercury 150 Black Max. Will trolling with this motor create any problems or damage to it?

What year? Are you running pre-mix or does it have the tank still with variable oiling? Also, what are you trolling for speed wise? Lower middle rpms are hard on reed valves on older two strokes because they create a lot of vacuum pressure at those rpm's, I am in the middle of replacing my reed valves on a 1990 evinrude 90hp. Also you could run a less aggressive prop if you plan to do a lot of trolling, you will lose some top end, but you might get in the better spot for trolling. They also make a drop down plate that diverts some of the thrust so you can run the rpm's higher but still run your optimal speed, you might look into that if you troll alot and don't want to reprop. Hope all this helps.

No. We fished for years with that motor...a lot of trolling.
