    Good to know

Maybe most you knew this but it was news to me. You cant run the boat out of water in gear. I have ran it several times with it hooked up to the hose with no problems but after adjusting the shift linkage I put it in gear. Holly !@#* it makes the most terrible noise. I guess the shaft support is lubed by water and if its not wet it will lock up on the shaft and tear off the boat! I shut it down before that happened and hit it with some silicone spray tried it agine and no more noise.

That is good to know and it makes sense as to why. Thanks for the post.

I guess that also explains when you turn the prop by had it makes a "scraping metal" sound. The first time I did this I thought something was wrong with my driveshaft or prop. I found out that someone on here said that was normal.
