I use the stuff they sell at my dealer....303/Meguire's and the Boat-Specific soap, etc. It's strange, as some areas of the vinyle/stitching look immaculate, and other areas look like I went thru with scissors and cut every exposed stitch. Other than using these product myself on a regular basis, I've had the boat detailed twice, but used the guys that my dealer uses once and the guy that my local CC dealer uses the other time.

You have to be careful what you used to clean your vinyl. If you use the wrong cleaner, it will cause the threads they use to stitch the panels together to disintegrate. I'd use Palmolive to clean it (with a soft brush if it's really dirty) and 303 to protect it.Cursed by a fortune cookie: "Your principles mean more to you than any money or success."

scmbmw, you could do what I did. The dealer got the replacement skins for me and I paid about a $100 for a pneumatic stapler. I bought SS staples from a local upholstry store and did the job myself. It isn't very hard and may take an hour per cushion, including removal from the boat. I would even be available to help you myself if you wanted to give it a try or you can borrow my staple gun.

I would like to caution against the use of dish soap. It is a degreaser by nature, and can dry out the natural oils in the vinyl.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

My vinyl guy (who recovered my upholstry) suggested using some kind of mineral spirit to remove stubborn stains from the vinyl.
Along those lines, what ever you do, you need to ban the spray-on sun screen from your boat, especially if it's quick drying stuff. It will make your vinyl do funky things and none of them are good.Cursed by a fortune cookie: "Your principles mean more to you than any money or success."

Search the forum, split seams where a common complaint until 05 or 06 if memory serves me corect.
They are very specific as to what you can use to clean with. See Downloads, interior, vinyl. It has been adressed on new boat and th 09 have more seam protection than previous years.
I use dawn to clean up and a Magic eraser for tough spots. Check with SPBfan and possibly Moki. They are the cleaning experts.Last edited by MoneyPity; 12-16-2008, 01:09 AM.

The biggest changes were in design and layout of the interior, more then in the vinyl: walk-thru transom, carpeted corner cushions, etc. The 05 and 06 vinyl feel very similar, but the 07 was a huge difference. Only time will tell if there are improvements.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More
