    Exhaust tips

Has anybody put chrome exhaust tips on their boat? If so, what size? How much? Where did you get them?
I'm on a boat man. I got my flippy floppies....

Mine has these and in IMHO it's the quietest inboard I've ever been on, granted it has the CAT exhaust too. I've never been out on a boat with an FAE, so I don't know how it compares to that.

$205 for tips is a little pricey for me.

I tried to search for the manufacturer, but no success. Mine were installed at the factory, which states Hydro Power STE on the spec sheet. Don't confuse these with the 90 degree tips Malibu used several years ago...they had no baffles and were loud.

Mine were just under $400 retail on my boat, so I'm sure they could be found for less.

I see they boast a reduction of "carbon dioxide to riders"....I'm assuming they mean carbon monoxide. Anybody have any thoughts on that claim - we have the single port exhaust and while I've seen the FAE's mounted on a single, it seems like it might not stay in place as well without the second outlet hole to mount on.

Ok, so the tips does help with the sound.

Do you want chrome exhaust tips to look good or are you trying to get some type of performance gain such as less engine noise or something like a FAE? I do know there is a single exhaust FAE kit that I will be installing this winter. I believe you can order them in some kind of black finish and chromed out for the bling effect.

But with the swim platform, no one will see them, so I'll be going with the cheaper plain jane finish. 3
