6.0 vortec has a stall when you drop the hammer??

My boat will be running fine at 600rpm's. When you barley have the throttle engaged like keeping a skiers rope tight and then hit it the engine sounds like it takes in a big hit of air and will either come back w/ power or die. Does anybody else w/ a 6.0 have this problem? What did you do to fix it?

Sounds like a fuel supply problem. I'd check your fuel filter to make sure it's clean. After that, check the fuel pressure.

Didn't the 6.0's have an issue that needed to have the ECM's flashed? What year and model is your boat Blackgold?

Also, you could give Dom a call, he is FIC on this board, he is a dealer and has a 6.0 himself, he knows that particular powerplant in and out. 888-517-3178.

I put a new fuel filter in it, and have had the computer flashed by marine power and have talked to don already who is very helpful. So thanks and please keep ideas coming in?

Check your fuel pressure. It may be fine at idle but not when powered up. I'd PM SPBFAN, he's got the same engine as you and have some good suggestions.

Maybe your injectors are clogging up, if injectors have a bad spray that can make the engine stall when reving up., especially if you drop the hammer and there is a rush of air coming in. The injectors won't be able to spray the extra fuel fast enough. You could run some injector cleaner through it to help clear them out.

Mine does this as well. Doesnt actually stall, just sounds like it till you get it past a certain rpm. I just ignore it as I thought it was just the tranny changing the rpms or something.

Check your batteries/alternator. If they're low it jacks with your fuel pumps.
