OK, email Lee and Harvey this AM and get the scoop on the Z1 air water temp as I am also curious as to what it needs to work.

        Z1 Lake Temp

        Sorry for the delay guys.

Currently you have this in a Z1 with Depth option
        Tach: oil, eng tem, volt
        Speedo: set, actual, depth

It is correct that lake and air temp are not options for this model. Now the dash mini harness has the air temp built into it already. The triducer also has the water temp built into it. Everything is there for it but it is not in the gauge package you are using.

Getting a Z1 to have air and lake temp is not an inexpensive task. Here is what you would have to do:

20i/20v/22i gauge set (tach, speedo, 4 in 1) and mini box. The issue with this is where do you put the 3rd 5" gauge, which is a 4 in 1. You will also duplicate the fuel level indicator.

If you run the 20 series tach you would get air lake and depth but you would loose oil pressure, engine temp and volt. I would not recommend that route.

The last option would be to run the b/w screen used in the RZ and VE models and re program the mini. Again a very expensive route to take.

This might be an option but the cord seems like it might be a bit short. Maybe there are others out there that could be used.

Would it be possible to use the wires from the transducer/speedo and splice them into something like that? You can get something similar for a fishtank for $10, all we'd need to know is what wires to grab. (Just a thought).

Temp from the triducer is running on the CAN bus, as well as depth.

Billspin is heading in the right direction. That unit would not be a permanent solution in my opinion but could do the job. I would see what else is out there like that unit.

Hmmm..... Sounds like there is no way to tap into those wires then. I suppose I can always run a standalone one, but don't want to drill any holes in the boat. :-(

I just found this online, I also ordered one. It is onsale for $8, and shipping is another $5. It's not the perfect solution, but it does have a 20 foot cord on it.
