intalling another intake scoop on 21V for ballast system - perfect pass conflict?

I am installing an additional intake scoop in my 21V (for a ballast system) and was wondering where others may have installed theirs?
I am thinking of installing it beside the center drain plug (slightly towards passenger side)because it seems to be the easiest/clear location. I will also be installing a perfect pass paddle wheel eventually and was thinking I could mount it on the opposite side of the center drain plug. Any thoughts or concerns??

That is how mine is, except reversed. My PP is on the passenger side(in front/diagonial of the engine pickup). The ballast intake is on the driver side but still inside the exhaust. I will take some pics this weekend.

      Pic's would be awesome...
The Tige' service guy told me to run my perfect pass as far to the rear of the boat as possible, & to the opposite side of the engine intake. He then suggested that I should run my additional ballast intake further towards the middle of the boat, but on the same side as the engine intake.
      Sound like good advice??
Apparently, perfect pass paddle wheels are very sensitive to any turbulences.

Any tips on installing the intake???
I'm not afraid of drilling through my boat...I just want to prevent future gel coat cracks from appearing.

I will def get some pics for you this weekend. I put my ballast intake in the rear of the boat (in the engine compartment) so I could screw a ball valve directly into it and shut it off easily incase there was a problem with the system. The paddle wheels are sensitive, but I haven't had any problems with mine.

For the intake, I used a rotozip. I used it for the intake, exit, and docking lights. It cuts through fiberglass with ease with no chips or cracks. When I've used a drill, I just covered the area with masking tape but I've never used a paddle bit on fiberglass.

i installed my scoop on the other side of the engine from the water intake. basically line up where that scoop is and drill a hole on the opposite side. If you do it on the same side as the intake then make sure you have enough room for your plumbing and that it doesnt interfere with the other scoop

            BOG,
did you find it difficult to drill a pilot hole from the interior/out since the motor & exhaust are kinda in the way?

I think that the way he is describing it you don't have to drill the pilot hole from the inside, you can drill from the outside.

i drilled mine from the outside. I have mine on the opposite side of the perfect pass.

                  drilled & installed them.
paddle wheel slightly ahead of center drain plug (as pp recomended in their manual) and intake slightly behind the plug on the opposite side.
perfect pass works well so far... even when weighted.
