Fuel Filter Replacement???

I have a 2004 24V with a 6.0. I bought a fuel filter from the dealer, and it's one of those corrugated cardboard ones. I cannot figure out where this thing goes! I tried to take apart this gray cannister, but when I got the bottom off, there was no place to put the filter. Any ideas? Pics? Help!!!
