    Spare Prop replacement.

I am going to purchase a spare prop for my 20V before I head down to Bullshoals Lake in June. Currently I have a 4 blade prop that I need to get specs on so I can find a spare.

Are there any special tools like a prop puller or other parts that I am going to need to change when or if I need to change to the spare prop?

Who is a good source for props for Tige boats?

    Any help would be appreciated.

It's an ACME prop, 4 blade 13.5x16 with 1-1/8th" shaft. Get what they call a "weekend saver" kit, should have all you need

You are making a wise move. Our spare prop has saved more than one weekend for us.

I have a brass factor prop. The guy I bought my boat from last year gave me his SS prop. It appears to near been used and he has said he has never used it. He bought if he was going to do any river riding. Question, should I use one over the other???? I like the look of the SS one when I have sit back there to get a look.

          Thanks

When you strike something, something has to give. I would rather curl the lips of a brass prop, then shear the shaft or something worse, because the SS did not.

I agree with Mike. Stainless Steel Props should only bbe used in deep water where you won't strike anything. From my I/O days I saw numerous lower units that had to be rebuilt due to a Stainless steel prop vs aluminum for I/O's. IMO The same applies to Brass vs Stainless on inboards .

OK, that makes since. So I will just use it for a back up. I don't want to buy a new brass one for a spare. So that will work. I also need to get a prop puller kit.
                Thanks

I have a brand new Acme 4 blade Power Max CNC prop and Ironman prop puller with wrench that will be up for sale in the next day or two.
                  Size: 537 13.5 X 16V L 1 1/8".
This prop was the exact same prop that was on my 06 22V.

If I may ask why are you selling it?

The one I will be selling was a spare and I never needed it.

                          chpthril,

I hate to ask but are you sure that the prop size you gave me is correct for a 340hp 07 20v. I can't verify for a few more weeks.

                          4 blade 13.5x16 with 1-1/8th" shaft.

                          Thanks.

I bet you already have a ACME prop on your boat if you do just look at the prop the model # will be on it....

And get a C clamp puller... harmonic suck IMO......
