Anybody ever install pull-up cleats on their boat?

My boat only came with cleats in the aft corners of my boat. I'm considering adding a pull-up cleat to each side about mid-ship. Here are the cleats I'm considering:

Do any of you have any experience installing these or have an opinion on overall asthetics?

I have experience tightening mine They come loose about every month.
I didn't put them in but looking at mine there does not seem to be any tricks. Mine are the stud mount (look way better IMO) mine have a large hole for the actual cleat and 2 small holes for the studs. Nothing special I don't think.
Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

Yeah...I did the loc-tite medium. I just think they get so many hard tugs at funny angles they can't take it. This spring I am going to do double nuts. If that doesn't work a castle nut on the outside will surely work.

Did you run the drain lines for them?

              Dbert,
If you get a volume deal on those, I'd be in for four. I don't like the price tag on them at normal retail.

I did some searching and I think folding cleats look as good and install much easier.

I have pop-up cleats now, so fold down cleats won't look as good.

Well, I just ordered 4 of these. The large photo is of a screw in, I got the smaller studded ones.

                              Nope. No need for drains.
