We've bought a new 2007 20v that we had in a New Hampshire lake for three months last summer. When it came out, almost the entire wetted surface was covered with 3 to 5 small 1/8" diameter blisters per square inch. Anyone else have this problem?

Trailer boats do not have bottom treatments, since they are not left in the water typically. Boats intended to be left in the water for long periods will have a barrier coat installed to prevent water ingress, and then an anti-fouling paint system to inhibit marine growth. I have not seen too many trailer boats with bottom treatments, since they are typically dry stored on their trailer. Most antifouling coatings need to stay in the water to remain effective after installation.
Gel coat and fiberglass will absorb water....It's not an optical illusion.
It just looks like one.....

Interesting. I left my 24v in the lake all summer with out any issues. Our bayliner used to sit in a lake for over 7 summers with out any issues. At the end of the summer it was very furry and brown though. I was very excited as to why my tige after sitting for the same period had very little discoloration (easily cleaned with HCL). Does Tige not treat them from factory? My boat is getting entirely regelled under warranty, do I have to ask them to put on a special treatment?2016 Tige Z3, 2014 Tige Z3

Why would my bayliner not blister then? It never left the water except for winter storage. Was in the water from may to september every year for 7 years. Actually I believe it was 8 years cause we got it in winter of 99. Doenst matter. I am not buying this whole thing as all. Like I said. My tige was in the lake for three months straight with out any issues. I never even thought to be concerned about it.2016 Tige Z3, 2014 Tige Z3
