    High alitude

    I am taking my new 22i to tahoe for month. any suggestions for high alitude use? I belive that i should change the prop at least. what pitch should i use?

    The biggest problem you are going to have is that the lack of oxygen is going to effect your engine. If you have an efi then you really don't need to worry about it. if you want to throw a four blade on then you willl get your good hole shot. If you have a carb engine then give it a a more air adjustment to get more air with your fuel, since the higher elevation is a less air in the mixture.

      Thanks, this boat is a EFI, our old boat was carberated we had to step down the jets by two sizes. you think just going from three blades to four will do the trick?

        Tahoe huh....? last time I jumped in there my lips turned blue and it was like riding in the ocean. Its beutiful there though. If you havent been there before go to Emerald Bay.

          prop pitch

          Tahoe sounds ... cool...
          We live in the rockies at about 4500' elevation. When we take our 24V up to the high elevation lakes (9000-10,000') we switch to a prop with a little less bite to it. If you do reduce the pitch, monitor RPM on the high end.
