    20V

Mine is no where near that easy on the 20V. I took some pics. It's TIGHT!
I had a bear of a time getting the floor off also...those dang screws were invisible. I searched the carpet thread by thread by thread--no signs of screws anywhere. As you can see by my toe there was one of them. The other was in the front side the other was at the very back starboard side near where the backseat went across it.

The pic of the rudder is looking straight down from behind the engine (or techincally...in front of the engine :-) )

Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

See the rudder area is a little easier on the V but another major thing is right under the engine...

            Prevention is the Key

After replacing my cable three years ago, I said, "That was not Easy!" . . . I have a 2001 21V . . . the key is prevention . . . no water in bilge, you have a two to three inch gap between the bottom of the bilge and the cable slider under the engine . . . (seeps in the cable you're cooked) . . . turn the steering wheel all the way to the left when through for the day keeps the cable slider protected in the sleeve . . . after three years, and a little luck, works better than most new boats on the water . . . good luck . . .
