Poor water drainage in bow of 2003 21i

when ever it rains or when the bow gets nosed under in the rollers, obviously water gets in the boat. Most of it goes into the 3 smaller storage compartments under the bow seats and front bow cushion. I don't mind the water getting in....the problem i have is drainage. I don't know if the carpet is blocking holes for those compartments or if holes even exist? Water sits unless i scoop it out and then leave the cushions off so that the compartments can dry out.

is there anything i can do to aleave the drainage problem?

Where should it drain? I do know that water will run from the bow to the storage under the port and starboard cockpit storage areas.

I have a Switch I & have the same problem. I always use a wet/dry shop vac to get as much of the water out as possible. I really don't like to cover the boat with the carpet still wet but here in Washington covering a boat is necessary to keep it dry.

In my 2004 22I there is one drain hole that I know about that is under the carpet. For my boat it is located right outside of the small locker under the dash. I just lift the carpet and the water drains out.

I have an 2003 21i, and I don't have that problem. I know that I just pull the front area's up to dry and the next day everything is dry. I'll look and see if I have any drain holes and if I do I"ll let you guys know. I can't imagine mine being different then yours. I just let mine sit in the storage area, and it dries out.

Ditto, same problem with my 04 22V. Does anyone from Tige ever read these threads anymore?

poohpotta, more than a few people from Tigé read these threads and I try to point certain threads out to them. If I knew all of the answers I would help you out.

I know it can get frustrating sometimes not knowing certain components of your boat , thats one of the reasons why I built this site.

Sorry, I know I've had a few technical and general questions in the past but never got a response from Tige. I know a few dealers who are online and do provide helpful feedback at this site, which is great. It'd be cool if some of the designers/engineers/dealers had a blog on this site or a once-a-month online Q&A session.

The site is great, don't get me wrong, I wear my recently aquired tigeowners.com shirt proudly!

No need to apologize, I wasn't trying to come off as rude.

I do however really like your idea, hopefully we can have something like that in the future. I am going to keep that in my mind for future updates and implementations.

Thanks for the compliments and your purchase!

ok, spoke with Harvey this morning (thanks harvey!!), on the 05 21i's there is now a drain hole to remedy our problems. He explained where we could drill on our 03-04 models to fix our issues, however i was without a notepad and pen. As soon as an 05 21i gets to our dealer here, i will try and post some pics of the location of the drainage hole. (unless anyone out there has an 05 they would be willing to take some snap shots of for us)

is that just the 21i or is it all of the '05s?
