    drainage

I agree, what my problem is is that if water gets in those compartments, it is up to 6 to 8 inches deep, and the only way to get it out is to bail it, then it takes a few days to dry the carpet. Dehumidifiers and replacing the carpet with a coating is not the solution for this issue, and I am reluctant to start drilling holes in things.

I haven't done anything with mine yet. I am thinking about talking to someone who does the spray in liners and see what they think. Some of the compartments are small and I don't know if they could get in to spray them. It would make a good winter project.

        My fix?

I feel your pain guy's. Guess I'm one of the lucky ones (one of two to be exact) that has a closed bow Tige 20ci.

          2004 Switch I.

After a weekend of play on the water I have a 1/2"to 1" of water. We use a sponge at night to pull the water out. Its a real pain. We park the boat on land on Sunday night with the nose pointed to the sky to drain. Its always gone by Friday night. I personally have no interest in drilling holes in the floor of my boat but I am going to ask the dealer if he will drill the holes when we do the winter service.

          Thanks for the idea

My o6 22Ve is no better. I am looking into putting in a THRU-HULL from each side bow storage into the console storage. Then put some hose on and Tee it into the cup-holder drain hoses. This should (I HOPE) allow most of the water to drain into the console and then into the bilge, but through the hose and not over the carpet in the console storage.

Does anyone know why Tige` is not addressing this? I agree with thewaterpup in not wanting to drill into the floor.

I never had a problem with water in my glove box and I see Tige put a drain on the newer ones. When I figure how to add add drains to front storage bins I'll do it .Shoud be a good winter project as season winding down.

over 1200 views makes this one of the most popular threads on the site. Hopefully Tige will take notice of this. Water sloshes around under my 21i's bow seats until i soak it up with a towel but I am paranoid to go drilling holes......

Silly us for using the boat in the water

I am a little confused as to how the hull is constructed with various stringers & compartments. The direct drive seems to have an open channel to the bow of the boat, but not sure what the shape is like or any obstructions near the spotter's seat or driver's seat. Then near the driveshaft the bilge seems separate from the sides to the transom. Does the back open up allowing all water, no mater where in the hull to easily drain back towards the transom or under engine area or other common place? Or are there places water may get trapped due to stringer placement?

                      Thanks, Jeff

                        Bow drainage

I installed my Bow Drains and posted the install in How To. Don't know if it works yet, hate to poor water in the bow since it takes sooo long for the carpet to dry.

Well, take a look guys and tell me what ya think, ie better idea, improvement!

I have 03,21i with this problem.I took about a 1and1/2" drill and went thru the bottem inside rear of the front conpartments. My main concern was to drill into foam or hit the runners.Hole went thru no problem.I felt underneath and it is clear around the holes.I used the holes for the hose for ballest.
I don't know if this will work on your boat or not.it worked for me.

I think we figured out that you could do that up til 04 or 05, then the sub-floor chanded, and there are stringers/floatation up there now.

you know an easy solution for this is just keep the bow from dipping under the water
