I'd like to find out how to address this on my '99 21V also.

I had the same problem with my '02 21ir and I called Tige and they walked me through drilling a small hole in the corner of each compartment to help it drain faster. It didn't totally solve the problem but it does drain faster.

I would call them and speak with them on your particular boat and hull. You had to be somewhat exacting as you drilled it. I would post it here but to be very honest I can't remember off of the top of my head and don't want to give you any wrong advice when it comes to drilling into the hull. But you definitely can do it. Hope that helps a little.

            drianing the front bow section

i have just been to the factory ,in abiline texas,i have a 2005 switch that has the same problem,so i asked the question to the tech guy,s.
if you drill a hole in each compartment, level with the floor, but not through it ,the water will drain away into the front section behind the steering cable etc.this will allow the water to drain into the hull and away to the bilge area.this works on both sides.
if you drill through the floor you will scrap your boat. because ther is foam directly under the front section of floor, and this is all sealed in.
if any body needs a pic i am giong to drill mine, when i take it in for the 20hour service.so mail me and i will forward the pics.

              Add me to the list

I get water under the two side front bow seats in my 2004 20V and we have to bail it out. There is a drain in the centre section, but apparently not in the sides, which are carpeted and it is a pain to drain and dry. Can anyone post a picture of where these drain holes should be drilled before I start poking holes in this thing? Thanks

The bow compartments of my 06 20i are very hard to dry. I don't get standing water, but since they are fairly small and deep, it takes a small fan to get them to dry. Some of this water also leaks back into the compartment behind the observers seat and the one on the drivers side which are also hard to dry. This year at powell, they wouldn't dry until I put a fan in them.

                This gave me an idea...

What about rhinoliner or something similar inside the compartments as a factory option or standard? It could be wiped dry with a towell and easily cleaned. It would be non-slip so things wouldn't slide around in the compartments. It should help dampen noise like carpet does. Good durability.

I would think it would take about the same amount of labor to install at the factory as carpet.

                  thats a damned great idea!

I'd also like to see it available in various colors in the following areas:
1.Transom- this will easily alleviate the nicks and scratches from boards.
                  2. Top edges of the boat, behind the tower base- provides a surface that has both scratch resistance and traction for passengers embarking and disembarking.
                  3. bow (top surface in front of the seats, at the very front of the boat)- same as above.
                  4. vertical surfaces of the walkway area to the bow- protects from boards being stuffed in there. Also, this is a high-traffic area.

The top edge of the boat would be awesome. It is slick when I stand there to get a board off of the rack. It would also help when I put the rear tower supports down to fold the tower.

I talked to a guy in town that does another brand of spray in liner. He said he can mix about any color I want.

That's an awesome idea...maybe Tige can make that an option.

I realize there hasn't been any posts on this lately, but I was wondering if anybody has this resolved.

I have a 2005 24V and it does the same thing. Sure seems like this would be a basic thing for a boat that is going to potentially get wet often...

Well, I found out my boat cover leaks (getting a new one). I am really thinking hard about pulling the carpet and replacing it with some sort of gator grip material that's easy to wipe down. Any thoughts on that?

                              Dog,

Home Depot and Lowe's sell a do it your self bedliner type spray. I Forget what it is called.

I used it on the inside of my canoe to keep my cooler from slipping around.

But fundamentally shouldn't the bow area drain? I have read where other manufacturers promote how well all areas of their boats drain. Is this an oversight by Tige or is it supposed to drain but just doesn't?
