I've got a '99 with all Faria guages and they've always worked.

spharis I know old thread, but it was brought up in a thread recently......just wanted to add that on my 97 all the gauges are Faria, and no cracking yet. Just some sun bleached spots on the needles, and of course the fuel gauge dances......sending unit issue probably.
My guess is your guages were already replaced!!!

BTW, Faria makes a really nice fuel flow meter and a multi-function depth/temp/water temp guage as well. Anybody out there try these?

Mine are original 97 gauges and still holding in there.

Dog - what size is the Faria gauge you write of?

I dbl checked and i was incorrect....2 of my cluster are Faria....so it looks like only two have been replaced.

I noticed the speedos, fuel, hour, voltmeter are all VDO....the left hand side are faria.......guess I didnt pay attention past that.

                    TeamAllen,
You must be one of the luck ones!!!
It seems that all of the VDO guages from that era were almost always bad. Falty plastic.

DITTO for me as well, had the VDO HOBs gauge break off in exactly the same manner. Its on a 96 FSLM

They looked to be the same size as the fuel/temp/battery/TAPS/depth finder gauge...in other words, the smaller gauges you see on my dash.

My fuel gauge actually works, although it's only as accurate as that type of gauge can be on a boat, but I kinda have it figured out about now. I'm spoiled on my truck where it tells me when I will run out of gas

The chrome on the Faria gauges has held up very well and they all still look good.

Yeah, I have to figure out where I want to tap my fuel line first. Anyone have any fuel flow install pics......line shots?

The current issue of Motor Boating Magazine has a fuel flow meter install DIY in it. May be worth checking out. Here is their website.
