My boat runs great but it used to stall when I would back off the throttle. I thought it was a low idle problem but some guys here told me to check the idle air controller (IAC).
I removed the IAC and sprayed Throttle body cleaner in it several times. I even filled it up, covered the holes and shook it up. The liquid came out very dirty at first but I kept doing it until it came out clean.
I also sprayed the cleaner on a rag and wiped the air intake butterfly and everything else I could reach. A fair amount of build-up was there also.
Lastly I hosed the spark arrestor off. That didn't do much so I sprayed it with the cleaner and again much build-up came off.
Now the good news. IT WORKED. I ran the boat 4 days in a row and it didn't stall once. Thanks to all of you who helped with this.
Some pics of the IAC and more about stalling are in the thread called "idle adjustment". Hope this helps.
