now transmission wnat go in to forward or reverse

Now that I got the starter issue fixed and the boat running as it should it won't shift in to forward or reverse. I can pull the neutral button and rev the engine, but with the button in it does not engage the transmission. I pull up on the lever and it won't leave the neutral position. Do you suppose a cable issue? Or possibly a transmission issue?

nevermind... I disconnected the linkage at the tranny bracket and worked it back and forth, apparently loosening a stuck cable.

Clinton, you are having one great season so far. It's good that you are able to resolve these issues without taking it to the dealer. Not to mention it is saving you a lot of money....

ya, I hate takin it to the dealer. I also like the fact that when I know my boat chances are I won't leave myself, my family and my crew out in the middle of the lake.
