That would make sense because I found the relay for it but no reservoir. It is a Lenco system.

I mentioned be fore if there is a wire harness coming out of the transom to the ram its a lenco. You can call lenco and the most common failure is the module under dash , most of the time they will send you a new one which is upgraded. If I can be of any assitance you can call me at 1 888 517 3178. Ask for Dom.

My boat does not appear to have the reservoir in the same location as your boat I have searched top and bottom to find it but just can't find it. I talked to my dealer he said he's swamped and can't bring my boat in for about 2 weeks or so. Guess I'll just have to wait it out . Anyone else know where the taps reservoir is on a 05 21i?
Whether your boat has an electric ram or the hydraulic pump, I would think that you would have either a hose or a wire going through the transom to the TAPS plate ram.

Maybe you could find this "pass-through" at the transom and fallow it back to whatever it goes to.

        Hope this helps a little.

You will not find a reservoir for the lenco because its all electric and theres not hydrolics involved.

Nor, will you find any wires near the rear because the gas tank sits right there. On second thought you may be able to see them if you look down the bilge.

The lenco has a wire harness that comes out of the transom the bennet hydraulic system hose and wire are internal you will only see the ram on the transom.

FIC, does the Lenco system work like trims on jetskis; IE two hot legs only to the ram, and one side is grounded at the box to move the actuator?

No there are only two wires in the ram the box under the dash reverses polarity when you comand with the switch.

Cool....that is how a bud of mine's jet ski was. His relay box went out, so I rigged up a relay pack to control it the same way. His had failed and was hot on both wires going to the ram though, or that's what I assume anyway.

                    the damn computers busted.
I checked the switch with a multi tester
all wires are working and my taps plate does still move
                    so conculsion is the computer
boat goes in to the dealer next week
                    fingers crossed!!
Anyone know how much its gunna cost to get a new one
                    I read 135 somewhere?

so my taps went out yesterday when I took it out. When we came back in, anhaney pushed on the plate, and the motor appear to be out of place, and it worked again. Now the gauge still doesn't work, but the taps does. After reading this it appears that there may be a loose connection in the gauge.

Is the taps covered in the extended mercrusier/tige warrenty? If Andrew could chime in that would be great.

Anyone else have any idea on the gauge, besides checking the relay, wires, etc?

It was too dark when I came back in last night to do anything, but will be looking at it this weekend.

                      Thanks all.

I talked directly to MJ Thomas at Bennett and he said the V-351 Hydraulic system that I have for the TAPS has a five year Factory warranty. It sounded as if all Bennett systems carried the same warranty. I had to send the motor unit back in to them and they are replacing it at no charge. I could not get any word from Tige on this so I went to the source. I am still waiting on my replacement unit. Good Luck

ok, thanks bake. I'll look up my brand name, and contact them directly.

Thanks a bunch. Sad if tigé doesn't help out.

                            Ok
                            so after almost a month
I got the my taps fixed
the dealer had to HIT IT WITH A RUBBER MALLET
                            and they worked like new
                            waited a month for that
                            oh well
the dealer said that every couple of weeks
                            you should "exercise" the taps
                            while in storage

Mine was stuck first trip out after our short 3 month winter. I had my son work the switch while I pushed on the rams.

You should have a single ram on you taps plate.
This ram / Piston is driven by a stepper motor.
The reason your gage has to go back to 7 after you turn off your boat is that it is finding the home position of the motor ( this sets the gage with the taps plate)
The plate will only move if the key is in the on position.
The plate only moves a few inches.
If the plate is not moving, take it to you dealer as it should still be covered under warranty
If it is not moving, then either the driver (under dash) or stepper motor is bad. Either way we are talking over $200.00
Tige, it's a way of life!
