    Agree. Go for Plan A first. If still a problem after a couple of trips, maybe shaving the washers to a wedge on starboard side only if needed. Or combining plan A and B, if necessary - to add the wedge under the rod support connector.

      Microsoft Powerpoint to use drawing tools:
      For accurate initial draw if photo available - import jpeg photo to power point, "trace" over the areas you want to replicate using drawing tool. Delete jpeg photo, drawing left, or keep photo with overlay drawing marks. Then you can copy mirror images, rotate...... on and on.

      Then export powerpoint file "save as" to jpeg format.
