Blower Circuit "Pops" one or two times every time out

Dealer "looked" at it one time, but.... Blower Circuit "Pops" one or two times every time out guaranteed. This is a safety issue to me. I now know to hit the circuit breaker button to ensure blower goes on (idling, coming into dock, ...). Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this?

Put amp meter reading on blower while its running and see how much it draws, most likely the fan blade has an obstruction causeing it to draw to much current. pull the vent hose on intake side of blower and inspect for debre.

We had to replace some of the blowers on 2006 models for the same reason.

Ditto on the current draw measurement if you have that capability. A circuit breaker going south and tripping at a reduced value is also possible cause if wiring/blower seems OK.

Yup I live in St. Pete and a boater, although I am ot not a Tige owner. I have a Chris Craft Bowrider, I like the versatility of a I/O and with tower and weight the wake is decent enough for my skills. I am old and fat compared to most wakeboarders. I found this site thru a good friend who is a Tige' owner and regular here. (mntsmith)

Lee - thanks for the advice. I think this a situation where (as this is still under warranty), I recommend to my dealer to have Tige send a new blower, replace, and then monitor.

I am trying to recall whats is 66th and Byran Dairy..are you Fortes In Board Connection? It is a 1999 and what they called a 200. (20ft). It has SBC and Volvo drive in it and I have been very happy with it. I have owned it for little over 4 years now and been a good boat. It had a whopping 42 hours on it when we bought it from original owner. He was one of two happiest days type guys (not cut out to be a boater). I have about 600hrs on it now and it is really decent wake board boat with tower and some weight IMHO. I really like the CC , I think it is better than average build details. No wood, all tinned wiring etc. I looked at a lot of boats when shopping and some of the details were unbelievable in some high dollar boats even. Only thing I wish it had was walk thru transom, the rear sun pad is taking a beating from no walk thru and I need to find a good local place that does upholstery. It is goofy layout where the rear bench back is part of sunpad so it will not be cheap or easy . No of any decent local shops for interior work?

Is your blower a 4inch or 3inch? I had this same issue on my boat the first few times and I was told by Andrew that the 4inch blower (what I have currently) draws more amps than a typical 3inch and causes the blower circuit breaker to pop.

However I only had this problem the first few times I used my boat. It works fine now.

There should be a current draw rating on the housing, or you could look the model up at the manufacturer's website, and replace the thermal breaker to a properly sized one.

Matt - DId you continue to use your '07 RZ2 after knowing the 4in blower was poping the breaker without looking for a fix?? I do not know if my 2006 22Ve came with the 3 or 4 in. blower. Mine continues to pop the breaker. I think there needs to be some kind of reliable fix for this.

Lee - for the few blowers you replaced, do you remember what size the removed failed blowers were; the size of the new blowers? - or did it have nothing to do with the size?

Per the picture I posted above, the circuit breaker for the blower seems to be rated at 3 amps.
